We love you Tuula (4/10/2011 - 1/4/2014)
Good bye my love :(
Last month I post in this about a little miracle. Our beloved rat Tuula (one of our three "fufunchis") had a stroke and she recovered. She has gifted us one month more of her life and sparkling existence to our joy. Still, I am grieved having to say that yesterday she left. Her name is Tuula (wind) and she went on a windy night. And the wind has been howling today when Héctor and me went to look for a beautiful place for her to rest. She is my rat-dog, the wise and amazing Tuulikki. Her fufunchis sisters Ritva and Taika are still with us and they are also very sad. Tuula went peacefully, her heart got slow and yesterday morning she crawled and licked my hand. Then in the evening she grabbed my finger with her little paw and passed away while holding me tightly. Her paw remained closed around my finger and she looked very much in peace. She did not suffer and I know she felt very loved. Hector and I were both with her in her final moment, surrounded and wrapped with our love. Now she is in the other side of the veil playing with my Kira and with Totonika.
Everytime the wind blows you'll be there flying to us my sweet one. Thank for the time you have gifted us, for the love you've shared with us, for your companionship and simple wisdom. For your empathy which many humans won't never understand.
And for the ones not understanding... No matter what they say. I know there are many people heartless and blind to understand that an animal can share a true love bond and become part of our existence. Tuula was not my pet, she was my friend and companion.

Once upon a time there was a little baby rat. She and her sister Ritva chose us to be their lucky parents.
She was meant to have a great life, to love, and be loved

Dark eyes that always glanced full of love for us
She was just AMAZING (sugoi nezumi)
Now rest in peace my love. You'll be always in our heart

Tuula you were such a beauty! I'm glad you were here and part of your mom and dad's life. I loved all the photos and videos of you. It makes me want to get a rat of my own. :) I have a cat though - and he also opens the cabinets to where his food is, and the packages of treats. You are a pure and sweet source of joy, and always will be. Your happy spirit brings sunlight into the world. Please give Kira and Totonika a kiss. <3 Love, Lisa

All things are meant to end.
All things are meant to end. But despite the bitterness of separation, we all know, good times shared are the most precious thing this life has to offer. No wonder Tuula gave and received lots of love, a tiny but great companion in troubled times. In many ways, Tuula, like Totonika... or even some people... form a cast of characters that conformed your surroundings during a certain period of your lives. A period that now, for better or for worse, belongs to your past. Keep always with you the best, forget the rest. Nothing is completely gone as long as it is remembered with fondness. Who knows if the longing for lost loved ones is a key for an eventual reunion, even beyond our material limits.
It has been a nice long ride, Tuula, hasn't it? For sure! ;-)
En la tienda del Dragón hoy
En la tienda del Dragón hoy no atenderemos pedidos ni consultas... Hoy estamos de luto porque una duendecita con cola nos ha dejado. Ella escarbaba en la tristeza para encontrar alegrías, ella husmeaba en el aire para localizar las más puras fuentes de la magia, ella daba felicidad a una de nuestras ninfas Priscilla y a su amado Hector. Deja un hueco en el corazoncito de sus hermanas. Pero allí donde vaya su pequeña alma será feliz porque fué amada, cuidada y admirada. Fué una ratita con suerte!!! Nuestro pensamiento está con ella nuestro coraje con la familia que deja. Animos Priscilla Hernandez y Hector. Ella os quería muchissssimo!!!
No hay mejor compañía ni
No hay mejor compañía ni mayor amor incondicional que el de nuestros pequeños... Siempre llevaré el recuerdo de Tuula viajando alegremente por tu hombro y enredándose entre tus cabellos, Priscilla. Y esa imagen siempre conseguirá provocarme una sonrisa. No pudo ser más feliz ni tener mejor familia que la vuestra... Lamento y os acompaño en su pérdida, pero siempre vivirá en nuestro recuerdo, latente... Hasta siempre Tuula.

Tuula...gone with the wind. But never forgotten. Fue una ratita que vivio en un hogar calido y sin prejuicios, no todas pueden decir lo mismo. La habeis cuidado con mucho amor y ella ha vivido tranquila y sin miedos. Ya es mas de lo que se puede pedir para muchas mascotas (perros y otras especies icluidos) :)

Oh, Tuula… we will miss your kind heart and sweet face. We never met, but I feel I know you. Words cannot express how hard it is to lose such a sweet soul like yourself. But most importantly, I should be saying thank you. Thank you for sharing so much joy with everyone around the world. You made us laugh and smile. Thank you for opening hearts and minds to your species with your kind soul. Thank you for taking care of your mum and daddy. And I know you always will, as you will always be with them.
We rat lovers say that rats are like bright candles. Their flames burn so fiercely and so bright with joy and love that their wicks burn faster. Thank you for giving us that light in our lives.
