Priscilla Hernandez. FLY (Written by my dear friend Serena Matthews)
I rarely do covers unless they are geeky fantasy things from my childhood, but this came out spontaneous and natural as a shout out to my dear friend and fellow singer songwriter Serena Matthews, who I know online since 2001. This is a new song she wrote this year and I took the chance to reinterpret a version of it as a "love you /shout out" message out there :) Because she's just such a sweet, humble talented lady and this song Fly is so beautiful. Serena's spirit is like a frail bird... and birds should never be caged, they're meant to be wild and fly in open skies no matter if the storms are menacing... we all long to fly... it's a recurrent theme in my own songs too and thus this little tribute to my friend.
