Wandering elf in Irati´s forest and we even found a REAL KODAMA
Below some pictures of me last sunday 9th March in Irati´s forest (Navarra, Spain). It was Héctor´s birthday and we went in the forest to take some pictures. I had won a green fur vest and gauntlets from Elfic Wear (lovely fairy clothes store) and I arranged the rest of my green and brown rags in pixie-fashion :) First three pics by Héctor Corcín. Last one, sugar-coated candid self-shoot with Héctor himself :) and at the end some pics of the place (Irati´s forest). We even found a KODAMA
Above: me with my cuffs and vest from Elfic Wear. I won their give away :) so be sure to check their facebook page, they run give aways often, and it works cos I won these goodies and it was amazing to receive them.
Above: candid shot of me and Héctor Corcín. Happy birhtday Héctor!
Irati´s forest in winter... hauntingly beautiful
And there in a moss cradle we found a real-life KODAMA, SO CUTEEEEE

The story of a little miracle called TUULA
Above: gorgeous, amazing Tuula :)
Well, you may already know my three "fufunchis". :) If you happen to be around this page you'll know they're my pet fancy rats :) and even if you dislike rats, if you look closely to my furry friends (that already starred in some of my videoclips like "No matter what they say"). Their names are TUULA (wind), RITVA (birch branch) and TAIKA (magic spell) all coming from finnish names. At the moment of this post Tuula and Ritva are 2 years and five months, which is for lady-rats a respectable age. They've had an unfortunate story with tumours and surgeries, though so far all have been removed successfully with surgeries. Last friday, Tuula was playing as usual, despite their age they are both doing amazingly well, they are playful and happy. Héctor and I were watching a video of Totonika and remembering how suddely she left us when out of the blue, Tuula had a seizure/stroke all of a sudden. She went downhill really fast and I took it quickly downstairs to my bedroom expecting her to die because she was unresponsive, breathing very shallow and obviously unwell. She let herself go and we said our farewells among tears... Tuula was no more :( but then in the middle of my anguish, and this is just how things happens so randomly in this universe, I was speaking to her, I told her "Tuula if you have to leave, mummy will understand, don't worry, though I would have preferred you to stay longer with me". Just like a little miracle her ribs started to move, she was alive! very badly and gravely but alive! When reaching hospital vet, she had laboured breathing and had severe hypothermia (quite normal if you come from the dead!) and semi-comatose so she spent the weekend in a chamber with oxygen and temperature and medication for possible (unlikely) pneumonia or suspected congestive heart failure. We took samples of her blood, and today we knew she already had liver and kidney failure already at the moment she got to the vet. At this moment, all the time I have with her is a gift, a gift or a miracle, and though we never know when this can happen again, right now Tuula is playing, moving, eating, drinking and stealing oats from a box and trying to escape from the carrier to meet her sisters. She is ALIVE, my little hurricane tornado, untamed just like the WIND like her name means. And WHAT A BEAUTY. I´m happy to share your company a little longer. I love you my sweet friend. Thanks for choosing to stay with me. This extra-time for me is a blessing and you are just amazing.
And by the way thanks to Laura Miró for sending me these "fimo" miniatures of my "fufunchis". I'm happy we´re still a complete family.
Above: Tuula as a baby (1 month), she's now two years and a half and has still that cute baby-face with big curious gaze :)
And also to fellow singer songwriter Louisa John Krol and her husband Mark, because they are "fufunchis" godparents all over from Australia sending them treats and gifts :)

The making of "The Green Fairy"
Absinthe is a liquor made of herbs historically referred as "La Fée verte" (the green fairy) and it was very popular in XIX century, so it has become an iconic element in Steampunk and other recreations of the era. I do not drink alcohol (except for some random cider or perry ;-) once or twice a year) so I confess I've never tried it, but I liked the "Green Fairy" as a concept and as I have many friends into Steampunk fashion I decided to make my own Green fairy (though with no reference to the distilled elixir! ;-)
So here are a few steps and details of how I made it
I always start with a pencil sketch. :) This is the preliminary sketch. I decided later on that legs were a bit long and changed a few details on the pose (still I am not sure if maybe I had to leave it as it begun) but well this is the original pencil draft. I wanted the style a bit steampunk lolita/mixed with fairy. I always make the draft in pencils, for any reason I don't seem to be able to draw well on tablet, though this time I'll add the color with digital painting and not traditional media as I'm more used to. So let´s scan and add some colors with the tablet. I only use brush which is the an airbrush one changing opacity and flow all the time.
Here a few instragrams I made with my cell during the painting process and first color layouts
Above: first layers of flat colors. Below starting to detail face traits and hair. Sorry these pics are a bit blurry they were shared by my instagram account and thus are not scans but cell-pictures
I wanted to go for a quick conceptual character design sketch, background will be kept grey or minimal
Here a detail of the face, It was fun to paint all those golden freckles. Color was chosen to be a bit "cartoonish" and vibrant and not entirely realistic. The dragonfly and waterlily in the chest is a cross reference to one of my songs "The Call of the nymph" that deals with dragonflies and waterlilies :)
Below: finished result
And here in my gallery you can watch it in bigger resolution

Remember who you were, Be aware of who you are, decide who you will be.
There’s noone that can undertand you better than yourself, your weak points, your assets, your dreams and hopes, listen to your own spirit, be your best friend, as selfish as it sounds, others might hurt you in their prejudice or advice claiming they can know you better than you do. Accept wise advice, integrate it in the system but for final resolutions, listen to your own inner voice. Some people are not born to have sensible, perfectly polished and plotted lives, some of us have a wild spirit that goes its own way in search of strange visionary dreams, we´re free to be the odd ones out, and try to pursue them, there´s nothing wrong in trying it EVEN if you end up failing. If a friend is a friend they’ll have to understand and accept it, if they’re not, they’re aways free to go (in peace). Of course we all have things that we should change as none of us are perfect but it’s us who must be aware and be free to decide where we want to go. Remember who you were, Be aware of who you are, decide who you will be.
No matter what they say

The evolution of my keyboards/synthetizers. How it all begun!
So they say sometimes a picture can explain the story :) How it all started...! These are the models of keyboards/synthetizers I've had during my life till present day. :) It all started with toy piano, baby blue with a rose on top. A wee version of me spent hours messing with it. :). The casiotone came mid eighties and wrote down songs that I used to record on cassettes with a radio. I remember to over-record one time and another till the recording was no more like a layered noise :) I still have some of this recordings in tapes and I would love to digitalize them one day.
During High School I was extremely shy, :) singing (in the toilet) was a passion and loved songwritting but it was a very private aspect of me. I used to show my drawings with no problem, but music was always my secret. :) I used to perform with my brother Germán a lot with this one, he had some talent, and always thought he was going to be the musician of the family :) Then I joined internet in 2001 and uploaded some songs there as demos. The roland fantom came inmediately and more recently the roalnd rd700sx beause I needed already weighted keys :).
Above: younger me back in 2004 or 2005. I had not a home studio by them just a limited gear, though I experimented quite a lot with what I had. I met Héctor around that time and thanks to him, I've learnt a lot since to improve my recordings. I also decided to invest great part of what I make in music in gear and things I was going to need
I also evolved from being keyboard/piano based to play more instruments and spread my skills. So now I´m addicted to learn new instruments :) and in my latest album The Underliving I played (with more or less success) 15 of them. In this section of the website you can see quite a few of them :). Some have been endorsed by lovely companies that have believed in our work like Gerry Henkel kantele, Rees Harps, Ron Ewing dulcimer, Hind Ocarina (thank you) and even some followers have sent us instruments they kept unplayed. Not that I'm a collector because I do play all I have even if wrongly. My head things of improving what I play and have access to new sounds, guzheng, erhu, duduks.... they will come ;)
And here I am, first online song uploaded in 2002, first official album released in 2006, and almost a decade after, though I have some moments of doubt like every independent artist, I don't regret a thing and I can say something truthfully and with all my heart.
I love making music so thanks to all the people who support me so I'm able to do so. :*** <3

Cosplay party!!
As some of you know I enjoy fantasy costumes, I have the pleasure to wear pretty things I've been endorsed or even made myself :) and I also keep a blog of fantasy costumes for fun. Said that, as it's pretty obvious I love to Cosplay a lot being my preferred style fairy of course. I really had a hard week, my rat Ritva got sick and underwent surgery, and sleep deprivation and stress did wrong on my energy that needed very much to be boosted. My baby is doing better :) and now wants attention all the time. She's so cutteeee. And I'm so relieved.
Above: Ritva... "Mum, I'm feeling better, but I enjoy the extra care. More cuddles....!
But I reached my top of stress so I took one day to record with my ensemble and create music, what makes me feel better almost inmediately and then me and my friend (also make up artist Arashi Hyou) organized a mini-cosplay wig party just to mess around and have fun and have chocolate hehe :) And I'm sharing some snippets and candids right now, though there are a couple of pictures from the photoshoot I'll work on and will share later on, these are the way they were taken.
It made me wonder how different we can look by simply changing our hair, or the colour of our eyes. It´s almost scary LOL
Above: me with red short red hair wig. I can´t barely recognize myself LOL... :) Still I'm devoted to long hair, always, but like the dark lush read on me.
My contact lenses are courtesy of Kiwiberry 1 Collection :) (thank you). These are brown-orange. Feel tempted of a lush green or purple, or light gray right now... hmmm. must check their site again, they really have affordable cute lenses. It wasn't intended but with this look It reminded me of my own "little red Riding hood" drawing I painted some time back. Definitely wolf-eyes! There is no color correction in this photography except for the light we used when it was taken, so that's how the contact lenses look like with no alteration. I have a lolita wavy wig in a tone darker than my natural, :) I love fringe, not intending to dye but starting to think "fringe" can be an option :) As I said, though not intended I thought of the Red Riding Hood I painted myself some time back
Here's the drawing I'm referring to
me and Arashi waving "hi" on an instant shot we networked when we were having fun. The white wig is from Lockshop wigs and you'll see it soon on me (next videoclip hint hint LOL hahhaa)
Lots of fun LOL
Above: getting silly, but don't worry, among hundreds there's like "two serious" pictures hahah you might see soon XD
Above: me and Arashi on a cell instant shot :) we shared in our networks when we were having fun! Another me! Many faces, one heart :) <3
Still more make overs LOL hahha :)

Rat or Muppet...? Me and my 3 fufunchis amazing rats
I reflect on my reflection
and I ask myself the question
What’s the right direction, to go
I don’t know
Am I a rat or am I a muppet?
If I’m a muppet then im a very ratty muppet
Am I a muppet or am I a rat?
If I’m a rat that makes me a muppet of a rat
I look into these eyes
and I can´t recognise
The one I see inside
It’s time for me to decide
Am I a rat or am I a muppet?
If I’m a muppet, well im a very ratty muppet
Am I a muppet or am I a man
If I’m a rat that makes me a muppet of a rat
Oh I’m a muppet!
Oh I am a rat!
That’s what I am

Tribute to my favourite band :) My own cover of Mad World by Tears for Fears
I've never denied that my favorite band and one of my greatest influence is the british new-wave group Tears for Fears :) I have all their discography and I confess I know by heart many of their songs. Past March it was the 30th anniversary of their first album (ohh that makes me feel really vintage) "The Hurting". Thus I encouraged myself to make a reinterpretation of one of they most known songs. Mad World, written by Orzabal and sung by Curt Smith, premiered as single late 1982 and within The Hurting in 1983. This song became popular due to a cover by Gary Jules, and though I love Jules version it really annoys me that many have forgotten the original source, credit and composers, and thus I picked this one that I made improvising choirs inspired in the original electronic TFF version. I cover many of their songs when I'm alone at the piano so I may try to make a few other versions soon but so far I hope you like it, and remember there's nothing like the original so be sure to check the original song after watching mine :) Feedback is welcome though and I'm thrilled that Curt Smith himself made a retweet of my humble tribute, just because of that I'm very happy :). So here it is me playing piano, harp, synth, flute and percussions too.

1.2,3 fufunchis!
As you've read in previous posts we got another baby rat :) Taika
She´s been already two weeks at home and finally We´ve successfully introduced the elder "aunts" to the newcomer :). She´s a little hyperactive bug. They play now together for whiles on a daily basis but Taika doesn´t sleep still in the cage tower and thus we had to set up a cage for her. So this is Taika´s temporary home. The cages are close to each other so they get used to the scents :)
Above: temporary Taika´s home. Thanks Tania from Piece of Heaven Rattery for the Sputnik and Mireia for the cage :). In a week from now hopefully she´ll move over to the double Furet Tower, aka "fufunchis castle"
She's grown sooooooooooooooo fast from a wee thing to this gorgeous silvery young lady
In the picture below all I love most in the world. Héctor and for the first time in a picture together all three "fufunchis" Tuula, Ritva and Taika and yes 1,2,3 .... fufunchis
I couldn't resist to take a shot myself
And the we posed for a while :) I think I have a collection of me kissing rats now LOL hahaha
Above me and Taika, the lovely green and golden crown I'm wearing was a gift from Ashley from Freckles Fairy chest
Received a lovely fairy gift from Australia, this wonderful digibook by Prikosnovenie featuring my collaboration with Louisa John Krol
Louisa John Krol is an amazing, lovely and talented singer-songwriter from Australia, Kelly Miller-Lopez another raven-fairy sister from Oregon, We three collaborated in one of the songs that will be featured in next Louisa´s album. But our mingling goes beyond, as we both Louisa and I collaborated in Kelly´s "Seasons of Elfland" CD and they both collaborated in my second album "The Underliving" so we keep on crossing paths Louisa named the "group" and bond :) the "Chalice" as We´re in a triangle in the world (Oregon, Barcelona and Australia) and we three make ethereal fairy music :)
Above: me with my gifted "Graines de Berceuses" digibook :) sorry for the crappy pic of me LOL :) But the digibook looks wonderful :) It came to my mail from my aussie fairy friend along with a lovely piece of soap that smells like heaven :)
Today I got a lovely little fairy package from Louisa and it included the digibook "Graines de Berceuses" released by French label Prikosnovenie that includes a compilation CD which features among others Louisa´s "Fountains of Alderbee" A that guests also my vocals, bansuri and low whistle :) as well as Kelly´s additional vocals and harp. You can see more about this release here . This song will be included in Louisa´s next album, and also conceptual illustrated book "Elderbrook" For purchasing Graines de Berceuses you can go here http://prikosnovenie.com/groupes/graines-de-berceuses.html
You can actually listen to this track in Louisa´s brand new website :) at http://louisajohnkrol.com and get to know more about Elderbrook´s project :)
Above: Louisa John Krol performing fairy music. Go to her site (by the way it's been launched totally re-designed not long ago)
So now there's a little box from me flying all the way to Australia with some handmade gifts for Louisa too :) I made that crown and she's making also a fairy garland for me :) yay :) So with a little of fairy dust this will make someone's day as my package made mine :) <3
I coudn't help to try the crown before sending it :) I so much hope that it arrives safely and that she likes it :)
Above, the dryad crown on me, looking forward to see how it looks on Louisa :) plotting now a matching necklace for her ;-) and a raven black one for Kelly :)
