Singles

Why don't you upload a picture of those singles on my FanClub? She said to me yesterday...
So here they are. I guess this means I am getting old but I recall a time in the Eighties and Nineties when the most fortunate of us would travel to London in search of those collectible pieces, seldom available in our country, the singles and maxisingles. That was in the final stages of the golden vinyl era.
Then it was common for all artists (and even more for artists with a dedicated cult following) to release as an advancement for a forthcoming album, as a re-promotion for an already published one, or simply to remain in the public minds in the period of time between lps, a single and maxi-single.
Usually in the small single you had the song as it was in the LP (or in a shortened version if it was too long) and a B-side which often was a track unavailable elsewhere or in a different mix. In the maxi-single you had a longer version of the A-side and then a B-side which could include something not available neither in the LP nor in the small single. When those releases where unrelated to any particular LP, most if not all of the material could be exclusive to the singles and would not appear on any LP until it might surface on some compilation.
This is exactly the case here, I guess. So one day I felt crafty and decided to create those singles myself. Here they are... and you can make yours too! It is easy... follow my instructions:
1st: Buy a copy of The Underliving. I think if you are reading this you already did...
2nd: Register at the FanClub with the code enclosed on your copy of the Underliving. It is easy and free! This will allow you to download the B-sides for free!
3rd: Buy the A-sides at the download shop. You can do that for just 0.75 Eur each! So you'll have to spend the princely sum of at least 1.50 Eur for both!
Then you'll get them in FLAC and MP3 formats... as well as the lyrics and the cover.
4rd: Here it comes the crafty part. Burn the songs on a blank CD and print the sleeve and the label. I used Lightscribe, but you can use any other mean available.
5th: Enjoy the result! You'll have an absolutely unique release from Priscilla Hernandez! Sparing the trip to Oxford Street where they (almost) do not sell records anymore! And tell your friends you have the present-day equivalent to Pictures In The Dark or Market Square Heroes! They'll blush with envy! LOL
