My name is Priscilla Hernández. You may know already my music but the truth is that I've been a fantasy/goth/fairy illustrator longer than I've been a musician! In fact I've been illustrating my own stories since I was a child and at the end I've mingled both disciplines so I can´t conceive one without the other.
I've always felt attracted by folklore, myths but mostly on their bittersweet and spectral matters. My favourite illustrators are Arthur Rackham and John Bauer that I discovered late but I do claim among my inspiring sources. I believe in the wisdom that lays behind a fairytale. I also believe that every light upon an object casts a shadow.... Lights and Shades build contrast. 

When I was a child I used to write novels, and one of them became the graphic comic "Yidneth". The project as a whole was not released though glimpses of it have been released as posters, and also in the pages of my released albums.

I have released so far two MUSIC+ILLUSTRATION CDs  ANCIENT SHADOWS: the ghost and the fairy (2006) and The Underliving (2011)

Fairies, ghosts, mermaids, nightmares...! My genre is FANTASY


I have made drawings for several magazines, fanzines and books and I'm back working at my comicbook Yidneth and also working in the artworks of  my forthcoming and third CD and an illustrated version of "Lost hearts" of M.R.James. I enjoy drawing fantasy/fairy/goth motifs but I'm open to other genres as well. I also accept custom orders and commissions so if you want to contact me for editorial work, a portrait or other art-related inquiries feel free to use the contact form.

You can see now some examples of my art and drawings in the Fine Arts section in this very  website. . I work as a free-lance illustrating books too, so if you want to order specific orders for your publications so feel free to use my contact for  enquiries from businesses about using my  fairy and fantasy artworks for product licensing, publishing or business proposals.  All the art that you can find on yidneth.com (paintings, pictures or music) is protected by copyright laws and cannot be taken elsewhere without my permission.

I have sleep paralysis, a sleep disorder and thus nightmares and night horrors were a constant in my childhood, that's the reason that aside of bright fantasy themes I also dive in the darker, eerier landscapes too. I work mostly with color pencils, watercolors and acrylic painting, but I enjoy also painting digitally, but I do always sketch drawings the traditional way first with pencil.

My desktop is never clean... I love to be surrounded by colour pencils, paints and paper... I love traditional media, though I don't discard mixed media (drawing and painting the draft in a traditional way and ending up with digital painting)

When I was younger I felt inclined to animation and I made a couple of short animated movies myself. I still dream that one day I will be able to render a new animation out of the characters of my comic or short stories. I started up writing so for me it's something I can´t help, it is all about  the story, the image and the music, just like a movie in my head.

I'm also open to license my works or even take commissions.  So if you want me to paint your RPG character, make a fairy portrait, or work as conceptual designer for your project I work as a freelance and self-represent myself.
